Reservoir Construction
Reservoirs can provide significant benefits for farmers and landowners, offering a reliable supply of stored water during drier periods and helping to improve resilience against increasingly unpredictable weather conditions.
By capturing and storing water during wetter periods, reservoirs can reduce reliance on other water sources and give farmers greater control over their water supply. Carefully designed reservoirs can also provide valuable habitats for wildlife, creating opportunities to enhance biodiversity around the surrounding land.
As Whitnell’s started in 1989, we have extensive experience in the construction of reservoirs, lakes, lagoons and other large-scale earthworks projects. Having constructed well over 90 our experienced team understands the importance of getting the earthworks right from the very beginning.
At our latest reservoir project the earthworks were completed in just over 26 days, using our Trimble earthworks GPS with our 30-ton excavator & Liebherr dozer. 2x Bell 30-ton dump trucks and 16-ton Dynapac Padfoot roller. Take a look below at the photos from start to finish.
With decades of experience, skilled operators and a large range of heavy plant, we have the knowledge and equipment to take on reservoir earthworks efficiently and professionally.
And there’s something we’re particularly proud of — as of yet we have had no complaints
From initial excavation and formation through to grading and compaction, Whitnell can provide the plant, operators and experience needed to keep your project moving.
